Full Version: TI-89 Titanium "Incompatible Type"???

Well gee... Whenever I try to transfer *.89* files to my nice new TI-89 Titanium the Send to TI device Screen shows "Incompatible Device" under destination... I looked under TI file Properties and it's all completely blank... Strange thing is, I put some programs on my Calc earlier and it worked fine, but now those same files show up as incompatible type... When I try to open up TI Device Explorer and Click and Drag the files to the right folder the USB Transfer Window comes up but then Device Explorer just crashes and I get that stupid "tell Microsoft about this problem" window...

Running TI-Connect 1.5.0.027 on Windows XP Media Center, TI-89 hw 3.00, os 3.01

And for those of you who are wondering TI-Connect shows that it is a TI-89 Titanium so it's not just not figuring out that it's titanium. The device is recognized as a TI-89 Titanium and the Windows Driver wizard thing says it's installed properly. The driver information for the "TI educational device" is tiehdusb.sys, version 1.5 from Texas Insturments Incorporated, and it shows as TI educational device at location 0 (TI-89 Titanium)

I think that pretty well describes the problem in detail... If anybody can figure it out that would be much appreciated... I think the problem must have something to do with TI-connect somehow not detecting that the *.89* files are for the calculator because that would seem to be why it wouldn't show anything under TI File Properties... But then again I could just be crazy...

Thanks in advance,

What programs are trying to send? Also, what is the default calc in TI-Connect? What cable are you using?

Get TiLP. But since you're using the USB (I assume) you'll need to set up the USB drivers for TiLP as well.

O ya, welcome to UTI!

You'll need to get TiLP II, the standard TiLP doesn't support the direct USB cables.

I was having the same problem with both my TI-84+, and TI-89 Titanium. I uninstalled TI Connect, downloaded the latest version from the TI Website, and then reinstalled it, restarted my computer, and it seemed to fix it. Maybe you should try that? smile.gif
